Description
Managing Governance in the Organization
According to ISO FDIS 26000, it is the most crucial factor in enabling an organization to take responsibility for the impacts of its decisions and activities and to integrate social responsibility throughout the organization and its relationships: in other words, ‘managing governance‘. In the modern world, corporate governance protects more than investors’ interests. It also represents the public interest, through environmental and social standards and practices. Recent financial crises in the US and United Kingdom have created an even stricter regulatory environment.
Managing Governance also applies to the public and third sectors, and scrutiny of public figures and public bodies is ever increasing, raising public expectations in terms of integrity and ethic behavior of leadership.
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of effective governance, and provides practical techniques to apply to understand the roles, responsibilities and undertakings of governing bodies in organizations. In addition, you will learn how to evaluate the processes and procedures in place for enacting governance on the organization, and how to shape and influence and improve the functioning of Board members and those responsible for governance in the organization.
